Back by popular demand for year 3! Join us on August 10th as we transform one of Maple Ridge's back alleys into a social scene like you've never seen! Cocktails, Food Truck Dinner, DJ, Prizes, Games and more.

The POP UP Tea-ki Bar Social will benefit Music Heals; investment in music therapy for the Ridge Meadows Association for Community Living for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, offering a wide array of services to meet the needs of people from infancy to adulthood.

The Music Therapy program is one of the most sought after and successful programs at The Ridge Meadows Association for Community Living.  Offered once a week , Music therapists work with individuals and their support teams to set goals and provide a customized learning experience.

 

The outcomes of this program have been amazing with students securing many benefits such as enhanced cognitive function, gross and fine motor skills, listening abilities , communication, social skills, and relationship building!

 

One young man  was referred to Music Therapy to increase his social confidence and decrease social isolation. Since participating in this program he no longer sits alone at lunch and is excited about his new social circle and friend group.

 

Another young woman was referred to music therapy to help address some fine and gross motor needs, while these have been achieved she has also garnered a tremendous amount of personal satisfaction and self-confidence.

 Presently the Music Therapy program is only offered one day a week with limited capacity. RMACL's goal is to expand this program and meet the needs more individuals.

This ticket includes 2 boozy bevies, unlimited self-serve non-alcoholic beverages, a delish meal from Taps & Tacos (vegan and gluten free options available....taco bout a party!!!), Gelato from Cremino Gelato Caffe, door prizes and more.   

$750 VIP for 8 people ( limited)

This VIP access includes:

• Early VIP access at 6:30PM with a welcome drink
• Two drink tickets per person.
• A reserved table for 8 people at a handcrafted Redwood Cedar table with benches for you or one of your guests to take home ( Value $700) made by Greenwood Creations. Greenwood Creations is a training facility teaching woodcraft and basic employment trades skills for people with developmental disabilities . These items are hand crafted by the Greenwood Creations team and are suitable as both indoor or outdoor furniture and would complement a variety of decors.
• A Bottle of Rosé and a bucket of craft beer or Nutrl Vodka Soda.
• VIP dinner service ( that means no waiting in line at Taps & Tacos!)
• Gelato from Cremino

 

FAQ

What do I wear to a Pop-up Tea-ki Bar Social?  

This is a scene unlike anything you've seen in Maple Ridge so you're going to want to look and feel fab but remember while you build your tiki chic look that this is in an alley so comfy shoes are key : ) A prize for the best dressed will be awarded so get creative!! 

Is this event an all you can eat/drink party?

The Tea-ki Bar will offer a selection of custom tea-ki cocktails and a few other libations. More drink tickets are available for purchase at check-in or during the event in the shop. You will have access to unlimited self-serve chilled non-boozy drinks and the hottea bar. 

I have my tickets but where do I check in and get access to the alley? What if I require wheelchair access? 

Check in: You will check in via T's Once Upon a Tea Leaf at 11970 224th Street Maple Ridge BC and this will be the only way to access the alley. Note- If you require wheelchair access please let us know and we will be happy to let you in a VIP entrance. 

Where should I park?

The parking lot and alley will be closed so if you are driving a car please use the street parking or pay to park behind the ACT Theatre. Please DO NOT drink and drive. We will be thrilled to call you a cab at your request.

Do I need ID? 

Yes.  No ID, no entry. All guests will be age verified and marked with bracelets at the door. 

Is this event dog-friendly? 

You know we love dogs, Sadie is in our shop nearly every day and we always welcome your four legged friends in our shop but this event is for humans only.
