Play, Cut, Paste: A drawing and collage workshop

In what ways can drawing be seen as a form of embodied expression? How can the physical act of cutting and pasting paper elements evoke a visceral connection to the landscape and the body?

Drawing on some of the themes in Winnie Truong’s solo show, Curious Nature, this hands-on workshop invites participants to experiment with cutting and pasting techniques to craft their very own collage works inspired by the natural world. Led by artist Ashleigh Bartlett, the workshop will consider the materiality of paper and the formal elements of color and composition, using various prompts to guide participants through creating their own imagined landscapes

This workshop will be preceded by a tour of Winnie Truong: Curious Nature, led by assistant curator Muriel N. Kahwagi.

This program is open to participants of all ages and all levels of experience.
