Brian DePalma's epic Faustian rock opera/tragic love story was a box office flop when 20th Century Fox released it in November of 1974. Well, everywhere but Winnipeg, where it played non-stop for months and months and is still revered to this day!

With a classic soundtrack filled with incredible original songs by superstar songwriter and star of the film Paul Williams, Phantom of the Paradise has truly stood the test of time and is much more appreciated now than it was then.
