Description
Welcome to Omatsuri 2026! This year marks a monumental milestone as the Calgary Japanese Community Association (CJCA) proudly celebrates our 15th Anniversary.
For a decade and a half, Omatsuri has been Calgary’s premier gateway to authentic Japanese culture. To celebrate 15 years of community, heritage, and connection, we are making this year’s festival our grandest and most immersive experience yet. From the thunderous echoes of traditional Taiko drumming to the vibrant sights of our night-market-inspired outdoor grounds, join us as we honor our past and look toward the future.
Whether you are a lifelong friend of the festival or joining us for the very first time, come celebrate 15 years of culture with us!
Choose the festival experience that works best for you! Purchase a ticket to either Friday or Saturday or even both, with each day offering its own unique mix of curated cultural programming, including:
The Main Stage: High-energy Taiko drumming, traditional Japanese dance, and live musical performances.
Martial Arts Demonstrations: Budo showcases including Kendo, Karate, Judo.
The Japanese Food Zone: Feast on authentic Japanese festival street food.
The 15th Anniversary Sake & Beer Garden: Sample a curated selection of Japanese sakes, local craft brews, and tailored food pairings.
Cultural Galleries & Market: Browse traditional arts, crafts, anime merchandise, and unique Japanese imports.
Is the festival cash-only? While many vendors accept debit and credit card payments (powered by our upgraded high-speed festival network), we highly recommend bringing some cash for traditional market games and select food stalls. ATMs are located on-site.
All prices in CAD and subject to applicable taxes. See below for full Family Bundle details.
Does the Family Bundle apply to young children? Because children 12 & under are completely FREE, you do not need a Family Bundle if you are only bringing young kids! Simply buy Individual Adult tickets. The $45 Family Bundle is specifically designed to provide huge savings to families bringing teenagers (ages 13–17). Families purchasing the Family Bundle must check in at the venue together.
Is there parking available? Yes, there is parking available at the Max Bell Centre grounds. However, spaces fill up quickly! We highly encourage carpooling or taking Calgary Transit (Max Bell/Barlow LRT Station is just a short walk away).
Is the event wheelchair and stroller accessible? Yes! Omatsuri takes place across both the indoor arena facilities and outdoor paved spaces of the Max Bell Centre, making it highly accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and guests with mobility needs.
Note: Skip the box office lines on event day by purchasing your digital tickets securely right here on Showpass. Fast-track entry scanning will be available at the gates!
