FILM SYNOPSIS
After her husband died ten years ago, Sandy Moser went to 970 plays (almost entirely in Alberta) and she says it saved her life. After seeing the arts community hit hard, and entirely shut down by the COVID-19 Pandemic, she decided to give back in her own way. Sandy set a goal to make 970 masks like the ones she wore in the 50s and 60s during the Polio outbreak. She's made over 3,000 so far with no signs of stopping, all by herself, and she won't charge you a cent for them.
SPEAKERS
Griffin Cork is an actor and producer currently based in Calgary, and has been working professionally in film, theatre and voice for over a decade. Griffin is a Producer with Numera Films, who's flagship series "Abracadavers" just wrapped their second season with the Canadian Media Fund. He's also a Co-Producer with Thousand Year Films and they are currently in post-production on their first feature film "Father of Nations". Griffin was named a Lieutenant Governor Emerging Artist in 2020 and one of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts’ Top Young Artists in 2017
Sandy Moser - If Sandy would write her bio, she would say: "I'm a little old lady who lives in the bush. I don't have a bio!" - However, if Griffin was going to write it (which he is currently), he'd say that she's "A loving grandmother, a retired registered nurse, a theatre aficionado, an expert Yahtzee player, a true crime fiend, and a bafflingly caring member of her community who is not good at accepting recognition for her work."
