Olympus: The Greek Rock Musical Youth Course Registration

OLYMPUS: THE GREEK ROCK MUSICAL YOUTH MUSICAL THEATRE COURSE DESCRIPTION:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This course is for participants ages 8 to 16 years old (as of January 7, 2027).  No prior musical theatre experience is required.  

Rehearsals and performances take place at the Swamp Donkey Theatre in Bragg Creek.  Regular rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.  

The course culminates with a fully staged musical.  All costs including scripts, scores, costumes, props, etc. are included in the registration fee.

COURSE SCHEDULE:

Course participants should be available for ALL regular rehearsals, tech week rehearsals, and performances listed below UNLESS approval is provided by our Artistic Director, Melanie Baux in writing PRIOR to registration (artisticswampdonkeytheatre@gmail.com). 

Please review the schedule below for conflicts and record it in your family calendar.

Performance call time (the time participants must arrive) is 1 hour before the performance.  For Saturday performances, students must be picked up by parents between performances.

Regular Rehearsals (8 total including 1 workshop) January 7, 2027 to February 25, 2027:

• Thursday evenings 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.

Workshops:

• Saturday, February 6, 2027 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

NO Rehearsal:

• Thursday, February 18, 2027 (Rocky View Reading Week)

Tech Week (March 1 to 4, 2027):

• Tech and Dress Rehearsals: Monday, March 1, 2027 to Thursday, March 4, 2027 daily from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.

Performances (3 total) March 5 to 6, 2027:

1. Friday, March 5, 2027 at 7:00 p.m.
2. Saturday, March 6, 2027 at 12:00 p.m.
3. Saturday, March 6, 2027 at 4:00 p.m.

AUDITIONS:

Students should be prepared to sing a song of their choosing, preferably a musical theatre song, at the first rehearsal.  Please email your accompaniment track for the song to artisticswampdonkeytheatre@gmail.com prior to the first rehearsal.  This song sharing opportunity will help us to get to know each other and assess which role is best suited to each student.  All students will be cast in roles in the performance.

REQUISITE FORMS:

Participants must complete the requisite youth forms in order to participate in the course.  Students are NOT permitted to participate until ALL forms are submitted.
