OLG Free the Jazz - The Garrett Warner Group

Based out of Canada’s capital city of Ottawa, Garrett Warner is a highly versatile guitarist, composer, and educator associated with “scene stealing guitar playing” (Exclaim, 2020). Since arriving on Canada’s capital scene, Garrett has made a name for himself as a sideman and bandleader alike. He was fortunate enough to study under Roddy Ellias at Carleton University where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree with honours in composition and guitar performance. Including original music, Garrett has recording credits in the hip-hop, jazz, funk, experimental, rock, and singer-songwriter genres. He has maintained an active performing schedule including regular appearances at internationally renowned festivals such as RBC Bluesfest, TD Ottawa Jazz Festival, Sighisoara Blues Festival, and Montreal International Jazz Festival. Garrett has had the pleasure of performing and/or recording with artists such Blakdenim, Angelique Francis, Side-Eye & Grace, Tiny Cars, Mike Cassells, and most notably a collaboration with Daryll “DMC” McDaniels of Run DMC.
