Description
Ottawa’s, Peter Hum has been a mainstay of the city's jazz community for three decades. He has released three albums of original modern mainstream jazz. His latest recording, Ordinary Heroes, a collection of 10 original compositions responding to the contemporary social and political tumult, was released online in the fall of 2019 thanks to grants from the Ontario Arts Council and City of Ottawa. The album received a four-star review in DownBeat as well as other very enthusiastic reviews. Peter's Comet Quartet is a new project with music written since the pandemic. Joining Peter will be Ottawa guitar legend Roddy Ellias; outstanding drummer Ted Warren (Mike Murley Quartet, Rob McConnell's Boss Brass); and Chris Pond, a compelling young Ottawa bassist. Peter is also known as a full-time journalist at the Ottawa Citizen.
