Okotoks 48hr Filmmaking Challenge 2025

Our 48-Hour Challenge is an annual event that runs during the May long weekend.

Challenge May 16-18

Screening June 8 at 7PM

Teams are given a genre, prop and line of dialogue to use and will then have 48 hours to write, shoot and edit their film. All films that are completed before the deadline and meet the guidelines of the challenge will be screened during the Okotoks Film Festival, and awards will be presented to films for Best Film, Best Use of Prop, Best Use of Line, Best Use of Genre and Audience Choice. Teams of all skill levels and ages are welcome to compete.

Can you do it?

Highlights Rules and Regulations:

Films created during the challenge will be 3-6 minutes in length, and must use a specified genre, prop and and line of dialogue.

Packages may be picked up or emailed to participants at 6PM on May 16, 2025.

Upload your film before 6PM on May 18, 2025. Films uploaded after 6PM on the 18th will still be screened, but will not be eligible for any awards (except Audience Choice).

Contact for each team MUST be over the age of 18.
