Description

O’KOSI, a Blackfoot word meaning, ‘In the fall, when we gather’, is a visually spectacular production filled with music and poetry and features a cast of Blackfoot actors.
O’KOSI depicts how Indigenous People are healing from the multidimensional and multi-generational effects of the signing of Treaty 7 and the Indian Act and how the repercussions of these policies have been passed to parents, sons and daughters.
Set in Mohkinstsis from 1877 to 2077, O’KOSI imagines a shift toward breaking colonial systems, reuniting families and healing communities. It is a love letter between parent and child.
A priority of Making Treaty 7 is to ensure we produce high-quality productions that are accessible to everyone. This year, for the first time, we are adopting a Pay What You Can Afford model.
This model includes three different prices for tickets - $15, $45, or $75. People can purchase any combination without restrictions. All tickets are general admission and do not require proof of age or student enrolment.
The new pricing model was created with the intent of increasing accessibility of programming to allow a larger number of audiences to be able to attend our performances, including seniors, students and other artists.
O’KOSI is directed by Michelle Thrush and supported by a majority Indigenous design team. The show runs from September 22nd - October 1st, 2022 and is playing in the Victor Mitchell Theatre at the Pumphouse Theatre Complex. For more information, please visit  www.makingtreaty7.com

Due to the nature of the content explored in this production, we are recommending this performance for ages 10 and older.
