In this love letter to the video store era, Nyla and a video store owner (played by Edmonton's own Kevin Martin) unwittingly awaken a long-dormant curse that unleashes a series of classic cinematic villains plucked from the bowels of the B-movies themselves.

IRL, growing up in the '80s and video store culture, Kevin Martin turned his love of this time period into cultivating and curating the movies he loves for the younger generation by keeping his real-life video store, The Lobby DVD Shop, open for the last two decades.

Along the way, he collaborated with filmmakers Tim Rutherford and Cody Kennedy numerous times, first in a series of short films based around the video shop and now with this clever and inventive new feature film. Their goal is to bring back attention and love to the video store culture, and with The Last Video Store, they've succeeded admirably.
