This dramatic program unfolds from a pure, still centre into a musical mass of energy! Solo flute... a mystical medieval chant... an iconic blue-lit theatrical work with masked musicians and amplified sounds called “a sustained and beautiful dream vision of the deep” (The New Yorker). The final set, drawn from the Kronos Quartet’s visionary “50 For the Future” project, showcases a vast variety of global influences and distinctive voices including Inuit throat singing with electronica influences; metaphysical prose and medieval dance forms; traditional handclapping songs from Mali, and much more.
