Description
North Van Arts presents Date Nights!
Thursday, October 10 - Date Night: Live Weaving with Francisco Berlanga
Immerse yourself in the natural world with this hands-on workshop, inspired by the live weaving technique featured in the 2023 exhibition, While The Wefts Were Woven at the grunt gallery. You’ll create a miniature loom within a planter and weave using natural materials like twine, grass, and vines. This workshop blends art and nature, allowing your creation to grow and evolve over time.
Thursday, November 7 - Date Night: Collage Making with Homa Khosravi
In this workshop, participants will create their own papers using various mark-making techniques, preparing for fun collage-making activities to craft Christmas or New Year cards, as well as making some wrapping papers.
Thursday, December 12 - Date Night: Upcycle Your Own Festive Holiday Sweater with Cyd Eva
Who says Holiday sweaters have to be ugly? Join us for a unique workshop where we flip the script and create stylish, festive sweaters through upcycling and mending to bring worn items of clothing a new life. Participants can design and create beautiful, fashionable sweaters to proudly wear during the holidays. And learn decorative embroidery techniques to embellish your sweater or jacket with beads, sequins and rhinestones.
Participants should bring a base sweater, jumper, or jacket. Second-hand jackets are available for purchase if needed.
