A Night of Tribute to Nirvana

On April 8th, 1994, Kurt Cobain, the lead-singer, songwriter and guitarist of the grunge rock band Nirvana was found dead in his home in Seattle, Washington. Forensic analysis at the time determined that he had died three days earlier by suicide.

In his honour, Live Acts Canada and The Live Agency present a night of tribute to Nirvana on the 25th year since his passing. Featuring Vancouver artists We Are Goon, Muscle and Gall, Precious Things and Very Dangerous.

A portion of the proceeds will be going to The Vancouver Recovery Through Art Society.

The Vancouver Recovery Through Art Society believes in recovery from mental illness and addiction through art: learning about it, creating it, enjoying it. We believe The Art Studios is the best available program of its kind and we want it to survive and thrive!

Goon

Stemming from three different parts of Canada, this band is rattled and shaken up by the thick vibrations dished out by their amazing bassist Yossi Rouch. A good bass vibe can only be matched by a killer electric guitar paired with hard-hitting lead vocals brought on by Mat Riva. Though, these two musical forces could never coincide without the grounded, and symphonic, drum-beat of their “rock”, Ariane Tasca. Together they embody and pay tribute to one of the greatest bands that ever were in the history of rock. They are … Goon.

One night we were sitting around a table eating pizza and drinking beer. After spending hours discussing our plans to solve all the world's economic and social problems, we decided it would be much easier to make a band. Yeah!
