Night and Day: Standing Wave Ensemble

Deconstructing Pierrot postponed. April 28 now a powerful programme by Standing Wave.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, composer and vocalist Laura Bowler is unable to travel to Vancouver for the April 28, 2026 performance of “Deconstructing Pierrot” at the Fox Cabaret. We’re thrilled that our friends at Standing Wave Ensemble are able to offer a concert of powerful new music that evening, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Western Canada’s foremost contemporary chamber ensemble, Standing Wave is a sextet of intrepid new music interpreters dedicated to commissioning and performing cutting-edge works by today’s most forward-thinking composers. Internationally acclaimed for their virtuosity, vision, and artistry, they have built a reputation for electrifying performances that continually expand the possibilities of chamber music. A familiar presence at Music on Main for many years, we are delighted to celebrate their artistry as part of our 20th season.

It’s a programme of bold music from four of today’s powerhouse composers: Mayke Nas; Linda Catlin Smith; Nicole Lizée; and Bekah Simms.  Don’t miss out!
