Music: Master Chorale & Chamber Singers - Brownsville

Join the UTRGV Master Chorale for an inspiring evening of choral music featuring talented student musicians from our School of Music! 

The Master Chorale and Brownsville Guitar Ensemble will perform Kile Smith's "The Dawn's Early Light", which sets text from Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins book Life Among the Piutes: Their Wrongs and Claims, which was the first published book by a Native American woman.  Music for solo voice and guitar will be sung by UTRGV voice faculty, and additional a capella music by J.S. Bach, Jocelyn Hagen, and Rodolfo Hafftler will ring in the beautiful acoustics of St. Eugene de Mazenod's sanctuary.

The Master Chorale is directed by Dr. Sean Taylor who serves as a Full Professor of Music and Director of Choral Studies on the Brownsville campus.

Únete al Master Chorale de UTRGV para una noche inspiradora de música coral con talentosos estudiantes de la Escuela de Música!

El Master Chorale y el Brownsville Guitar Ensemble interpretarán "The Dawn's Early Light" de Kile Smith, que pone música a textos del libro de Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins Life Among the Piutes: Their Wrongs and Claims, que fue el primer libro publicado por una mujer nativa americana. La música para voz solista y guitarra será interpretada por el profesorado de canto de UTRGV, y además se escuchará música a capella de J.S. Bach, Jocelyn Hagen y Rodolfo Hafftler en la hermosa acústica del santuario de St. Eugene de Mazenod.

El Master Chorale está dirigido por el Dr. Sean Taylor, quien es Profesor Titular de Música y Director de Estudios Corales en el campus de Brownsville.
