Settle in for an evening of movies and music, ChamberFest West style! Buster Keaton’s famous silent film inspires pianist/composer Matan Porat to “an astounding feat of creative musicianship” (The New Yorker): a completely original, improvised, live score which, like the film, is filled with drama, whimsy, and visionary imagination. Shostakovich’s waltzes—charming miniatures written for a film score—and selections from the Kronos Quartet’s globally-influenced “50 For the Future” project, set the scene. Join us for a drink on the patio after the show.
