Moonlight Cocktail Club – Taste of Place Competition

Moonlight Cocktail Club returns with a special-edition competition presented in collaboration with From the Wild and Explore Edmonton, as part of the 2026 Taste of Place Summit.

This one-night event brings together some of the region’s most creative drink-makers to explore what it truly means to capture a taste of place in a glass.

The Concept

This competition challenges participants to create cocktails rooted in regional terroir, highlighting wild and local ingredients that reflect the landscapes and ecosystems of Northern Alberta.

Rather than simply assembling “locally produced” components, competitors are encouraged to dig deeper: sourcing ingredients that genuinely grow here, and building drinks that tell a story about place, seasonality, and connection to the land.

The Format

The evening will follow a familiar MCC flow:

• Happy Hour + Feature Menu
  Arrive early and enjoy a curated selection of offerings from the Woodwork team.

• Live Cocktail Competition
  Finalists will take the stage to present and prepare their cocktail for a panel of judges from From The Wild.

• Post-Event Hangout
  Stick around after the competition to connect with industry folks, competitors, and fellow guests.

1. Participate in a guided foraging experience led by Kevin Kossowan of From The Wild on May 15th

2. Present their final cocktail live at Woodwork on June 16th
