Breath Across the Ages | Melody Shen and Lucas Wong

Muzewest Concerts proudly presents the Canadian recital debut of 19-year-old flutist Melody Shen, a rising star whose luminous tone and expressive artistry have captivated audiences worldwide. She studied with Carol Wincenc in the Pre-College Program at the Juilliard School and is now a student of Philippe Bernold at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. Shen has won top prizes at competitions including the Severino Gazzelloni International Flute Competition and the Camerata International Artists Competition. For this special debut, she will be joined by Vancouver’s own Lucas Wong, whose artistry and sensitivity make him an ideal collaborator for this brilliant young musician.
