Mattress Kaleidoscope: A Wes Anderson Birthday Oasis

Priority will be given to friends of Marc and Sophia on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are $15 to cover the rental cost of the venue and sound. The last 50 tickets will be $20, so RSVP now! Any profit generated from this event will go towards supporting Mattress Society Burning Man Camp and ColouredSpace Collective.

You open your eyes, and you find yourself landing at the top of a crooked, wooden staircase.

There is a long wide corridor leading to a room that upon inaugural glance, is decorated with lush mattresses and kaleidoscopic lights. The walls are covered in foam, with deep bouncing grooves and vibrational sound waves resonating at every turn.

 

A mesmerizing man comes up to you elegantly, with a proud smile as he walks and gestures for you to come to the dance floor. His name is Marc. He takes out his headphones, plugs in his symphonies, and sets the BPM to bounce 101.

A joyful woman’s voice impresses the speaker, her name is Sophia:

“On Saturday, November 25 from 9pm to 4am, we cordially invite you to Marc and Sophia’s Epic Mattress Kaleidoscope Joint Birthday Rave, inspired by the tales of Moonrise Kingdom by Wes Anderson. A Sagittarius celebration of friendship, laughter, wisdom, and dancing. Expect diverse genres spanning from house, disco, techno, breaks, and DNB for 7 hours of non-stop grooves, a potluck, Wes Anderson decorations and movie screening, Mattress Society style cuddle puddle, and whimsical surprises.”

 

It is then that you realize, that perhaps you just stumbled upon the greatest party in Vancouver.
