Martin Kerr at Saturday Night Special

Chinook Musical Society presents a series of high-quality musical acts every year under the name "Saturday Night Special".

We host performers from folk and country, to blues, Celtic and folk rock. While we do bring in acts from all over North America, and some international, we are especially proud to showcase Canadian and Alberta talent.

The evening opens with our house band and two sets from our headliner.

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, we are so happy to welcome back Martin Kerr!

Since Martin last visited our stage, his troubadour dreams have just kept on coming true! The red-headed British/Canadian singer-songwriter has made legions of new fans around the world opening for Dermot Kennedy, Walk Off The Earth, The Strumbellas and Billy Raffoul, and headlining at summer festivals. 

After 15 years going it alone as a street-performer, and visiting 35 countries, he signed with his ‘dream label’, Nettwerk Records (Passenger, Paper Kites) and released 2 acclaimed EPs, Don’t Listen to Me and What you Don’t Know.

Martin has often been compared to the best of both British and American 1970s troubadour like Cat Stevens, James Taylor and John Denver. His soulful voice and lyrics connect with listeners of all ages and backgrounds.
