Description
VIU THEATRE presents William Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
A tale of shipwreck, magic and mending an ancient grudge. Exiled on a remote island with his daughter, the sorcerer Prospero conjures a violent storm to shipwreck his betrayers, including his usurping brother. As the survivors navigate illusions and spirits, Prospero, with the help of Ariel and Caliban, manipulates the event until everything comes together.
The Tempest is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays, written at the height of his prowess. It is a beautifully sincere piece of theatrical art.

Malaspina Theatre @ Vancouver Island University is a 300 seat ‘living classroom’ where students completing diploma and degree requirements learn, develop skills, and gain hands-on experience. It also functions as a road house for community based events.
