** DRESS-UP THEME: We encourage you to express yourselves through an underwater theme and embody the magical essence of the ocean. This event, “MAKING WAVES!”, is a celebration of the tides. It speaks to the beauty we can discover, through the ebbs and flows of life.

“MAKING WAVES!” is a pop-up gallery exhibition created by CONTEMPORARY VICE. This body of work will bring you to a new dimension, through the collision of characters, colors and patterns. 

To compliment the eccentric and soulful essence of their art, Vice has curated a one of a kind opening party, which celebrates technicolor imagination and falling in love with life.

CONTEMPORARY VICE is “MAKING WAVES!” with their enchanting imagination and dreamlike visuals. Only 21 years old, this multidisciplinary creative has been featured at Shambhala Music Festival, Bass Coast, Zen Garden, etc. 

They’re taking leaps with vibrant opportunities such as being an artist on the NEW Canadian Television Series, "The Sugar Mama” (coming soon). 

CV is extremely passionate about bringing vibrant experiences to The City Of Calgary and has created with BeakerHead, BUMP, N!GHT L!GHT, and many more. This exhibition is a milestone in their career: holding the title of their first solo show. Filled with childlike wonder- it echoes the call to follow your dreams, while hinting that magic is real.

Fresh from his headlining debut in Bangkok, Thailand- this Calgary DJ / Producer is on the way UP. His songs have been played across the globe at festivals such as EDC and Burning Man, with support from Excision at Lost Lands. This “WOOK SLAYER” is one to be on the lookout for. With tracks released on DirtySnatcha Records, Headband Society, Gravity Recs and many more. His hard hitting sound is wompy and wubalicious.

Omnistbee’s journey is marked by an unwavering dedication to the vibrant community of underground bass music. Co-founder of Alberta Bass and UnAlone Music Festival, she’s inspiring the scene with her passion and unforgettable sound. A visionary fusion of wobbly bass, rap and ethereal essence. She’s a heavy hitter with an ear for magic.

Meet Riva Tone, a dynamic force in Canada's dance music scene, known for curating events that draw diverse crowds eager to celebrate the essence of dance music culture. As a multicultural BIPOC artist with a deep love for global beats and cultural rhythms, Riva Tone's performances paint a vivid picture of our shared human experience.

Bass Panda brings a one of a kind soundscape journey of uplifting and colorful magnitude. With a seamless blend of live saxophone through multiple genres, his prolific talent has established him in the community. Performing at music festivals such as Wicked Woods, Fozzy Fest, The Womp, Vibes, FreezerBurn, and many more. This is an artist you won’t want to miss ! 

 

                                 >>TRASH GARDEN<<

TRASH GARDEN is an iconic multidisciplinary duo. Their unique performance features a collision of music and live painting, to create an immersive experience. They’ve been showcased at BadLands Music Festival, Chasing Summer, etc. With a curated collection of UK grime, hip hop, dubstep and other vibes. These powerhouse performers are notorious in ski masks, making a big splash ! 

 

                                  >>DJ Bingsoo<<

DJ Bingsoo is a versatile mixer who indulges in music of all angles, including techno, house and break beats. Featured across Calgary at Sweet Loretta, Shuffle Club, Hearsay, Sbbth, etc. He is an up and coming talent who’s evolving and bringing big energy to the scene. As a figurehead of Silent Tension, he’s dedicated to electrifying Calgary with unique sound and experiences. 

 

                                   >>RayVon<<

RayVon draws inspiration from various soundscapes, with a psychedelic fusion of genres. Deeply rooted in hip hop, R&B and reggae, he’s pushing a timelessly hypnotic sound. His unstoppable passion and funky frequency will move you through emotions and invoke uplifting vibrations.

→ On April 13th, CONTEMPORARY VICE will be live-painting in the gallery, so you can not only check out this soulful exhibition, but also experience their process of creation; seeing art come to life. 

This gallery viewing is an opportunity to experience the artwork in a new light. The grounded atmosphere will allow each viewer a deeper connection to the spirited essence of this body of work. You can learn more about the art, through personal connection to the artist and their live painting process. 

Although the launch party is 18+, Vice creates in a visual language that speaks to children and adults alike.  Intended to be experienced by people of all walks of life, we invite you to checkout this heartfelt exhibition with your families and loved ones.
