Benefits of EASC Membership

1.     Professional Development Events:  EASC hosts it's annual Education Day featuring guest speakers who offer insights into various industry aspects. These events are excellent for networking, discussing industry trends, and earning professional development credits. Members enjoy discounted registration fees.

2.     Continuing Education Courses:  To support industry growth, EASC offers courses such as Introduction to Petroleum Accounting, Fixed Asset Fundamentals, Equalizations Basics, and Production Analysis and Audit. These courses are designed to enhance your skills and knowledge, preparing you for evolving industry demands.

3.     Volunteer Opportunities:  Members have priority access to roles on EASC's standing committees, providing opportunities to build valuable relationships with industry peers and contribute to shaping industry standards. Committee roles involve developing accounting procedures, crafting educational content, and representing EASC in joint task forces with associations like PJVA, CALEP, and CAPLA.

4.     Continuous Professional Learning and Development (CPD):  Participation in EASC events, including luncheons, courses, and committee work, can contribute to your CPD hours. Luncheons and courses typically count as verifiable hours, while committee involvement may count as non-verifiable hours unless specific documentation is provided. Any CPD credits offered by EASC are subject to the specific requirements of the governing professional organization.

5.     International Insights:  EASC's longstanding affiliation with the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS), a founding member for over 35 years, provides our members with valuable updates on accounting policies in both the U.S. and internationally. This connection ensures you remain informed about global developments affecting our industry.

6.     Online read access to EASC publications is available to all active EASC members and discounted pricing on purchases of select EASC Publications.

Conditions of Membership

EASC memberships are available to individuals actively working in accounting, auditing, finance, or economics within organizations in the energy industry.

Purchasing or renewing a membership confirms you agree to comply with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Energy Accountants Society of Canada

New Member applications are subject to the approval of the EASC Board of Directors. Previous members who have allowed their memberships to lapse, are asked to re-apply as new members.

Continued membership in EASC is subject to renewal with membership fees due and payable on July 1st each year

Student memberships are available to a full-time student enrolled in an energy or accounting program at an accredited post-secondary institution. Student members are not entitled to vote or hold office, however they can take advantage of all other benefits of membership in EASC.

Prospective new members and renewing members are required to complete and submit the EASC Membership Information Form
