Hamilton/Toronto based band Nezqwik is whatever the moment calls for—no two shows are ever the same. Inspired by an array of genres spanning jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock, gospel, and even traditional Indian music, the heart of Nezqwik’s music sustains a groove that any audience can vibe with. Nezqwik was originally formed by bandleader Aleef Mehdi on guitar and features his childhood musical partner and best friend Benjamin Duff on bass and their companions from Humber College’s music program, Jinu Isac on drums and Jeremy Hucal on keys. Each of these voices in Nezqwik interact together in the moment to create something unique, quirky, and spontaneous at each and every show.

The members of Nezqwik have been mentored by some of the finest names in music, including but not limited to Grammy winners Shaun Martin and Larnell Lewis, and Juno winners Rich Brown, Mike Malone, Robi Botos, and Mike Downes.

Nezqwik has shared the stage with Guitar Center Drum-Off winner Shariq Tucker, KC Roberts and the Live Revolution, Liberty Silver, The Free Label, ART the Band, among others. More recently the band has played the stage at the T.U. Jazz Festival in Toronto, as well as at Hamilton's own Supercrawl.

Nezqwik aspires to expand the musical palette of their audiences through their diverse repertoire of covers and originals, all while maintaining a creative energy and environment.

Currently in the process of writing a debut album, the band’s philosophy is aptly described by the three short words of their slogan; Groove. Pocket. Colour.
