The Lina Allemano Four are an adventurous chamber-jazz quartet based in Toronto and Berlin, playing trumpeter Lina Allemano’s striking original music. Allemano is recognized as one of the leading innovative trumpeters on the scene today in both cities and indeed across the globe. The band has been called “stunning”, “captivating”, and “essential”, and is known for their telepathic group interaction, seamless improvisations and evocative sonic explorations. The quartet has toured extensively across Europe, USA and Canada, and recorded seven internationally-acclaimed albums during their 18 years together.

Their album Vegetables (Lumo Records) was nominated for 2022 JUNO Awards Jazz Album of the Year (Group) and the band was included in 2022 DownBeat Magazine Annual Critics Poll list for 'Rising Star Jazz Group’. Their newest album, Pipe Dream (Lumo Records), is already attracting wide international attention as, “One of the year’s most significant jazz recordings” [Stuart Broomer, The WholeNote, June 2023].

The Lina Allemano Four are: Lina Allemano (trumpet/compositions), Brodie West (alto saxophone), Andrew Downing (double bass) and Nick Fraser (drums).
