Description
An entry-level movement workshop designed for actors, puppeteers, and mask performers.
Glenn illustrates how director Tadashi Suzuki conceptualizes the performer’s body and what a lived narrative might look like. Use movement, breath and energy to animate objects in a new, intentional way.
Glenn's workshop will be an entry into the application of embodied performance training with an emphasis on the aesthetic function of animated objects and the place of the visceral body inside performance.
Secondly, through observing each other’s work, the session will provide dialogue for artist/performers to share insights into their own relationship to performance and the objects they work with for the benefit of the participants.
What is Nobbs Suzuki Praxis (NSP) and Performance? A movement-oriented training method for actors. The Nobbs-Suzuki Praxis (NSP) is an Australian variant of the Suzuki Method of Actor Training (SMAT). NSP was created by Australian practitioner John Nobbs in collaboration with Jacqui Carroll who are the founders of OzFrank Theatre, an Australian company based in Brisbane.
