Leonard Chan - Saturday

Leonard Chan returns to the stage for a powerhouse Saturday night at The Basement Comedy Club.

He first began doing comedy in grade school as a form of self defence. Decades later, after stepping onto an open mic stage in Vancouver as an adult, he never looked back. Since then, Leonard has built a reputation as one of the sharpest and most intelligent voices in Canadian comedy.

He has opened for Ronny Chieng, Joel Kim Booster, K. Trevor Wilson, River Butcher, and Matt Braunger. Audiences may recognize him from Sirius XM and CBC, or from major festivals including the Halifax Comedy Festival, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and Just For Laughs in Montreal.

Beyond stand up, Leonard is an accomplished television writer. His credits include Kim's Convenience, Strays, The Trades, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, 16 Hudson, and Hello Again. He has received four Canadian Screen Award nominations and won for writing Simu Liu’s “I Am Canadian” speech at the Juno Awards.
