— Synopsis —
Le Dernier Repas de Maryse Legagneur raconte la rencontre entre Reynold, un Haïtien atteint d’un cancer en soins palliatifs, et sa fille Vanessa qu’il n’a pas vue depuis vingt ans. À travers le rituel des derniers repas inspirés de la cuisine de leur enfance et confectionnés en secret par Vanessa, les souvenirs et les blessures du passé remontent à la surface. Ce drame délicat et authentique offre un portrait touchant de la réconciliation familiale, porté par une mise en scène sensible et des interprétations nuancées. Un film profondément humain, à la croisée de la gastronomie et des racines culturelles.

— Synopsis —
The Last Meal by Maryse Legagneur tells the story of Reynold, a Haitian man in palliative care who is dying of cancer, and his reunion with his daughter Vanessa whom he hasn’t seen in twenty years. Through a ritual of last meals inspired by childhood recipes and secretly prepared by Vanessa, memories and past wounds resurface. This delicate and authentic drama is a touching portrait of family reconciliation, enhanced by sensitive direction and nuanced performances.
