Description

On Friday,November 8th at 12:00pm (noon) join us in the MPR to listen to one of Time's Magazine's 100 most influential people, Emmy winning producer and equal rights advocate, Laverne Cox!

Laverne Cox is the first trans woman of color to have a leading role on a mainstream scripted television show, Orange is the New Black, and produced the daytime Emmy winning documentary "Laverne Cox Presents The T Word".

Join UMSU & Laverne Cox as she explores how the intersections of race, class, and gender uniquely affect the lives of trans women of color. Laverne draws from her own personal narrative to share how she has been able to navigate the world and all it's challenges. As she continues to be a major voice driving transgender awareness and equality, Laverne’s message continues to resonate with audiences and drive positive change on a global scale.
