Laureate City 2: Opening Reception | Réception Inaugurale

Laureate City 2, a bilingual weekend of poetry readings, music, and culinary celebrations featuring poet laureates from across the country will take place November 15-17, 2019. VERSe Ottawa, in collaboration with Arc Poetry Magazine and The Association des auteures et auteurs de l’Ontario francais, will be hosting a diverse selection of 12 laureates in a variety of page and spoken word performances as well as thematic talks exploring the central question, “What is the civic role of the poet in our society?”

Du 15 au 17 novembre 2019 aura leu Cité des lauréat.e.s 2, un événement bilingue qui réunira à Ottawa des poètes lauréat.e.s de toutes les régions du Canada pour un programme de lectures de poésie, de prestations musicales et de célébrations culinaires. L’organisme VERSe Ottawa, en collaboration avec l’Association des auteures et auteurs de l’Ontario français (AAOF) et ARC Poetry Magazine, accueilleront une liste de 12 auréat.e.s qui présenteront des textes de poésie parlée et écrite et participeront à discussions thématiques centrées sur la question suivante : « Quel est le rôle civique des poètes dans notre société? »

Our Opening Reception at 5pm will feature a wine and cheese and welcome addresses from VerseOttawa and Library and Archives Canada, followed at 7pm by readings from:
