“As my act of resistance… I’ll plant a garden”, sings Kyle Church on the title track of his new full length album “Plant a Garden”, which is set to release in May 2023.
There seems to be so many issues across the world that are fighting for our attention. In the midst of a world that appears to be spiralling out of control on many fronts, Plant a Garden explores the idea that instead of worrying about all the things that are beyond our control… maybe the best thing we can contribute to the world is to simply care and tend for the small square footage beneath our feet; to plant flowers, to tend a garden, and to care for our neighbourhood. The song proposes the idea: “when there’s chaos around us, we should care from the ground up, and keep growing beautiful things”.
Kyle Church is an award-winning singer songwriter and musician from Medicine Hat, AB. Influenced by writers such as Jon Foreman and Gregory Alan Isakov; Kyle is marked with a passion for telling the truth and finding beauty woven into every person’s story. Kyle’s laid back personality translates smoothly to the “easy listening” nature of his music, and his storytelling at live shows is equally as light and humorous as it is deep and thought-provoking.
