The Middle Eastern and North African Music Ensemble, MENAME and special guest artists, Belediyya Dance Company present كواكب Kawakib al Sharq, Stars of the East. This concert pays tribute to several stars of the Middle East through performances of their songs, especially Kawkab al-Sharq (Star of the East) Umm Kulthum (1904 - 1975), marking fifty years since her passing. We also celebrate Iranian singers Qamar al-Moluk Vaziri (1905-1959) and Shahram Nazeri (b. 1950), and the Kuwaiti singer Abdel Karim Abdel Qadir (1941-2023).
