About the author

Dr. Jen Gunter is the Number 1 bestselling author of The Vagina Bible and The Menopause Manifesto. She is board-certified in OB/GYN and pain medicine. Jen Gunter writes about the intersection of women's health, sex, science, and pop culture for the New York Times, and contributes articles to the Globe and Mail, Cosmopolitan and other publications. Jen hosts the TED Audio Collective podcast Body Stuff with Dr. Jen Gunter and is a writer and host of the show Jensplaining. She has been called a fierce advocate for women's health, Twitter's gynecologist, and the Internet’s most famous OB/GYN. She believes an empowered patient requires facts and she is here to fix the medical Internet and smash the patriarchy.

About the interviewer

Dr. Paula James is a Professor in the Department of Medicine, with cross-appointments to Pathology & Molecular Medicine and Pediatrics. She is a Principal Investigator in the Clinical and Molecular Hemostasis Research Group at Queen’s and is the Medical Director of the Southeastern Ontario Inherited Bleeding Disorders Program and the Women and Bleeding Disorders Clinic. She was involved in the launch of the Let’s Talk Period website and aligned social media accounts that increase knowledge about abnormal bleeding.
