In 1964 tenor saxophonist Stan Getz and guitarist Giao Gilberto released their famous Getz/Gilberto album which introduced Brazilian Bossa Nova to the United States and the world. The now legendary Antonio Carlos Jobim was featured on piano and composed many of the songs This iconic album went on to sell over one million copies and won the Grammy for album of the year. 2027 marks the centennial of both Getz and Jobim and Tampa Jazz Club and HC Visual and Performing Arts will pay tribute to them with a concert featuring Jeff Rupert on tenor saxophone, Nate Najar on guitar and Daniela Soledade on vocals.
