Jeff Meleras and the Bokonons with Tara Holloway

Jeff Meleras and the Bokonons are very psyched to announce that they will be back at the Red Bird on Nov 22 to launch their fourth album,  "Desert Songs", at this already iconic venue.

The Bokonons are an Ottawa based Americana style band formed in the summer of 2021. The band is comprised of songwriter/guitarist Jeff Meleras, producer, engineer, and multi instrumentalist Dave Draves, the legendary punk, folk and rock veteran multi instrumentalist Chris Page, he himself one of the finest songwriters around,  the Toronto import and guitar wiz Mike Zikovitz, and Piet Masone, whose magical harmonies and vocal gymnastics are like no other. They will be joined on bass by Jon Hynes, one of Ottawa’s best musicians.

Desert Songs is their new release, a follow up to  “Derp Grier Down” which popped last November.The Bokonons sing about human folly, regret, alien visitation, societal division, loss and longing, and the pending apocalypse with just a small smattering of tentative hope sprinkled in for good measure.  

The Bokonons are very pleased as well to announce that the excellent singer songwriter and local treasure Tara Holloway will be getting things going with an opening set.
