Description

James Leclaire

From fist pumping, stomp your feet workingman anthems to soulful ballads of love, heartache and loss; James' songs are all about storytelling. Intensely thought-out lyrics grind through James' raspy vocal cords with powerful emotion to produce rich, dark imagery that can really punch you in the heart.

James has played all around Ontario, toured the East Coast, played Ottawa’s Bluesfest and CityFolk, and has released multiple albums since 2011.

Between 2020-2023, James was in studio at Ottawa’s Bova Sound recording 38 new tracks, some including mandolinist/guitarist Kevin Breit(Norah Jones), drummer Ed Toth(Doobie Bros), Juno nominee pianist/guitarist John Fraser Findlay, and harmonicist Mickey Raphael(Nelson/Dylan/Young/Stapleton).

James has been releasing those tracks monthly since August 2023. The first 10 compiled to become his 2024 album, Come On In, and now the next 11 create his 6th album, Self Deconstruction.

"He’s the Dave Grohl of Ottawa country music...the songs just soar."

     -The Revue

"...he sings with a mix of Bob Dylan and Steve Earle. It’s a phenomenal mix of country/folk/blues."

       -Martyr Magazine

"...a true marriage of genres, a hybrid with each style adding to the final results without compromising its fuel source."

      -The Alternate Root

Matt Gower

Throughout Matt’s musical journeys, a constant thread has held true: nothing carries more weight than connecting with an audience through the power of song.
