Description

It can take a village to help amateur athletes get all the way to the Olympics, especially when they are responsible for their own fundraising and financing. Our own local National Champion Slalom Canoer and all around dynamo, Haley Daniels, is in the race of her life to navigate her way to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games for the first time. It’s also the first time the sport has been officially open for women to compete, thanks to Haley and the dedicated group who lobbied for recognition and inclusion.

Join Haley and friends on January 17, 2018 for an evening of mingling, munching, and music in Calgary’s newest (and only) rowing-focused athletic studio for a silent auction of artist-painted paddles and special adventure and lifestyle prize packages.

Sixteen paddles, each custom painted by a local artist, will be on display and up for the bidding. Local restaurants are offering international bites inspired by some of the countries Haley will journey to in competition. And Village Brewery and Tinhorn Creek Wines will be there to provide the perfect pairings!

We’re hosted by the brand new Crew Club Athletics rowing studio in the heart of Mission, founded by Bruce Robertson, Olympic Gold Medalist in Rowing at the Barcelona 1992 Summer Games. Get your tickets soon, as attendance is limited!
