Description

Investor Reverse Pitch: Investors Compete for Founders’ Attention

This is not a traditional pitch event.
At this Investor Reverse Pitch, investors pitch founders.

Instead of founders trying to impress investors, investors will explain:

  • Why founders should choose them as investors

  • How they support portfolio companies beyond capital

  • What makes them a strong long-term partner

Investors Line-up:

  • Moien Giashi, PhD,  Principal at GreenSky Ventures. GreenSky Ventures invests in early-stage Canadian B2B startups, with a strong focus on deep tech. Moien leads investments in technically complex companies and brings experience as a former strategy and business consultant, as well as an academic background with 18 peer-reviewed publications.
  • Louis Brown, Director, Business Development at Farm Credit Canada | FCC. FCC is a federal Crown corporation fully invested in Canadian agriculture and food. Louis’ background in agriculture, finance, and capital markets—across multiple geographies and within both large and small organizations—gives him a broad and deep perspective and insight.
  • Boyang Li, Principal at Framework Venture Partners. Framework invests in late-seed, Series A, and Series B technology companies, with a focus on vertical SaaS and AI-powered platforms. Boyang sources new investment opportunities, performs investment due diligence and execution, as well as supporting portfolio companies.
  • Casey Van Maanen, Associate at GTMfund. GTMfund is a Vancouver-based fund focused on B2B SaaS companies. Casey supports deal sourcing and diligence, mentors students at Front Row Ventures, and advises early-stage startups on go-to-market and presentation strategy.
  • Laurence Boudrias, Associate, Venture Capital at NAventures. NAventures is the corporate venture capital arm of National Bank of Canada, investing in early- to mid-stage companies shaping the future of financial institutions. Laurence focuses on banking and fintech market research, supports investment analysis, and helps portfolio companies refine their business models and go-to-market strategies.

To keep things interactive, we’ll follow the pitches with a Calgary Startup Trivia Game, then move into structured investor roundtables for direct conversations.
