Intro to Laser Cutting

We are very excited to offer our first (of many) hands-on technical workshops to get Members and general community up-skilled with the machinery we have here at SOARE! Up next is our Intro to Laser Cutting. In this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals on what is laser cutting, how the machine works, the variables to consider, and what are the realistic applications of such a tool for your business (e.g. what the heck do I even do with this thing?) 

In this workshop, you will learn the following:

• What is a laser cutter? 
• What can I use a laser cutter for? 
• How do I safely operate the machine? 
• What kind of materials can I use? 
• What variables can I manipulate to achieve my desired results? 

This workshop will take you through all of the above with live demonstrations across a variety of materials. You will leave with the fundamentals with how to safely operate our laser cutter, what kind of files you can use, the advantages and limitations, as well getting your creativity flowing! 

No prior experience is required - this initial course will be starting at the base fundamentals. More advanced laser cutting techniques and practices will be offered in the coming months.
