INTO THE WOODS

INTO THE WOODS, with a score and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine, is populated by all of the fairytale characters that you know and love, thrown into an epic journey about parents, children, and wishes; about the choices we make; and about the consequences of those choices. And a cow, a cape, a slipper, hair, and a curse.

The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but as the characters learn, actions have consequences, and happily ever after isn’t always the end of the story.

Mount Pearl Senior High is pleased to bring this musical fairytale to life this April, our first school musical back on stage since 2018!
