InTheCity

InTheCity is a themed screen-printing workshop fundraiser centred on New York City in the mid-90s. Screen printing is a technique used to transfer designs onto many types of surfaces, most commonly fabrics, paper, plastics, glass, metal, & more. It’s widely used for making t-shirts, posters, labels, and art prints. Its process involves pressing ink through a mesh screen with blocked areas to create a design of your choice. Only the open parts of the mesh let the ink pass through, forming the image on the material beneath. It’s known for producing vibrant, long-lasting prints that can be used on multiple surfaces. In this workshop, designs will be provided to keep the process simple for everyone involved. All interested participants are encouraged to attend with their own T-shirt and/or tote bag for screen printing. Individuals may attend fitted in any of the vast array of fashion styles from the 90s era in NYC. There will be live performances, free refreshments, an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals & much more. Those interested in attending must pay a $10 fee, with 50% of the proceeds going toward funding a clothing/food drive for children in need here in Edmonton.
