ABOUT THE MOVIE 

It’s a story about the fastest street racer of Mt Akina.  Takumi, a delivery boy; Ryousuke, an engineer of speed; and Kyouichi, a professional racer: the three of them become duelists of drifts.

For five years, 18-year-old Takumi has been delivering tofu in his father’s obsolescent Toyota AE86 every morning. Not only has he become a good racer, but he has also unwittingly perfected the art of drifting. 

He was never an aficionado of hill racing until he is asked by his father to drive his AE86 in a David and Goliath race against Night Kids’ EVO. A glorious but unexpected victory awakens the competitive genes in his blood, while his overnight fame inevitably leads to hellraising races one after another, each one more perilous and exciting than the previous one.

Starring Asia’s hottest heartthrobs, Jay Chou and Edison Chen, Initial D is adapted from one of the most popular eponymous manga and anime series in Japan. This is the first live-action feature based on the series to ever grace the silver screen in the world.

THE ART OF DRIFTING

The D of the title stands for drifting, a racing technique of braking the rear tires loose in a controlled manner right before an uncontrolled skid. Drifting is the fastest way through a corner. A car is considered to be drifting when all of its wheels are slipping, but the front wheels are still pointed in the direction of the corner, or at least straight.

一秒鐘有多少時間？當身處在一百二十公里的快車內，正進入二十五米半徑，接近一百八十度的下坡道髮夾彎內。一秒鐘絕對是很長的時間。

天才賽車手高橋涼介（陳冠希）認為，真正的車手要在下坡道上見真章，他領導的REDSUN車隊將展開遠征各山路的計劃。與涼介亦敵亦友的中里毅（余文樂）接受了挑戰，決定與涼介各從國內南北山路開始征戰，看誰能贏得最多山路。

日本秋名山上的清晨，一輛豐田出產的中古車AE86優美地在下坡道飛馳，車內神秘車手的飄移車速使人吃驚。AE86在滕原豆腐店旁停下，睡眼惺忪的少年滕原拓海（周杰倫）回到店裡，只見老父滕原文太（黃秋生）醉倒廳中，拓海幫父親收拾東西，憶起五年來每天清晨代父送豆腐到秋明山上的旅店，心情也沉重起來。

暑假前，快將畢業的油站太子爺阿木（杜汶澤）向他的同班好友拓海大談飛車經驗。拓海對飛車一事完全沒有概念。恰巧女同學茂木夏樹（鈴木杏）經過，夏樹向來對拓海有意，拓海卻刻意逃避。一輛名貴房車到來接載夏樹，前往一家情人酒店。

阿木父親立花佑一（鍾鎮濤）開設油站，拓海下課後會來做兼職。中里毅來到油站，挑戰阿木的車隊，阿木硬著頭皮接戰。晚上，中里毅開著GTR來到秋名山起步點，涼介早在等候。阿木應戰，結果在山路上被中里毅大敗。當晚，中里毅在山路上練習時巧遇神秘的AE86，竟被對方輕易擊敗。中里毅和涼介遂向阿木打探AE86的消息，阿木兩父子心知該車為文太所有。

阿木求文太出戰中里毅，文太聽到GTR的利害，有點心動。夏樹相約拓海去海灘暢泳，拓海不置可否。涼介和中里毅在豆腐店出現，原來兩人查出文太是當年的傳奇車神，並向文太下戰書。文太向拓海表示如果他代父出戰獲勝，就借AE86給拓海到海灘。

挑戰之夜，AE86上山。阿木見來者竟是拓海，嚇了一跳！山路上，AE86再戰GTR，拓海利用溝渠拐彎技術將之擊敗。涼介更詫異於拓海的賽車技術全憑感覺，根本毫無認識。

海灘上，穿上泳衣的夏樹向拓海表白，兩人打開心扉。拓海初嘗愛情滋味，看著夏樹回家，反而有點茫然。

阿木及拓海遇上岩城清次（劉畊宏）挑戰，拓海雖險勝清次，豈料接著卻被清次的好友須藤京一報仇（陳小春）。拓海力戰下，AE86超越機件極限，引擎失靈。同時，阿木目睹夏樹與一個男人步出酒店。拓海同時面對信心、友情及愛情的挑戰，究竟如何面對？ 

由亞洲至尊偶像周杰倫、鈴木杏及陳冠希領銜主演，《頭文字D》由日本同名殿堂級漫畫及動畫片集改編而成，更是首次將這個賽車國度飆進大銀幕，成為極富漫畫感的真人電影版！ 

飄移解構

片名中的「D」代表「飄移」(Drifting)，是一種獨特的拐彎駕駛技術。駕駛者於彎路時急速煞車，導致車尾呈失控性擺動，令四輪在路面滑行，但前輪仍然指向彎角或向前。這樣汽車便能以最快速度拐過彎角。
