Impact of the Spanish Conquest on Latin American Music - A Community Discussion
-featuring Camilo Juaregui
Camilo Jauregui is a native of Bogotá, Colombia and has directed, worked with, and created music programs in his home country and around the world. He now teaches at Waynesburg University in Pennsylvania. In advance of his visit to Hartford as a guest artist in an April 11 concert titled De Vuelta Al Sur, Camilo will join professors from the University of Saint Joseph to talk about the ways the Spanish Conquest changed native music in Latin America- and how that impacts Latin American chamber music today.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this event will be streamed in high quality from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. Upon reserving your ticket you will receive a link by email that will take you to our digital concert hall.
