Description

Politics, power plays, and dry British wit return to the West End in I’m Sorry, Prime Minister, the brand-new—and final—chapter from Yes, Minister co-creator Jonathan Lynn.

Playing a strictly limited run at the Apollo Theatre, this sharp satire stars Griff Rhys Jones and Clive Francis in a fittingly farcical farewell to two of Britain's most beloved political characters.

Former Prime Minister Jim Hacker has retreated from the chaos of Westminster to the supposed peace of academic life at Hacker College, Oxford. But his quiet retirement is shattered when he's “cancelled” by the college committee. In comes the ever-scheming Sir Humphrey Appleby, armed with Latin quips and layers of red tape, ready to manipulate his way through this new moral and political minefield.

Can Sir Humphrey save Hacker’s reputation while navigating modern sensibilities, student politics, and bureaucratic nonsense? Or will this finally be the end of the civil service as we know it?

Written and directed by Jonathan Lynn, and featuring Olivier Award-winner Griff Rhys Jones and Yes, Prime Minister alum Clive Francis, I’m Sorry, Prime Minister is a razor-sharp, hilarious send-off for fans of classic political comedy.
