Description

Join us for this gala event showcasing the world premieres of three short films by IARTS students!

Bundi by Gemima Mukendi

Bundi explores the idea of healing through different stages, drawing on personal experience of grief and trauma.

Palimpsests by Vikaash Arunmozhi & Maia Nguyen

PALIMPSESTS follows two immigrant artists, Anh and Dhanush, as they navigate isolation, identity, and belonging in a world that asks them to compromise their art. Until, their collaboration becomes an act of rebellion and self-discovery.

The Tunnel by Pariwash Sundrani

Mars, a person who is seemingly moving through life without living, begins to discover that liberation is possible, through the love of the ones who care about her most.

This film includes flashing lights, depictions of medical disability and struggles with mental health. Viewer discretion is advised :)

McMaster’s School of the Arts is excited to announce the IARTS EXPO: Pilot, a four-day festival of the arts featuring the inaugural graduating classes of McMaster University’s iARTS (Integrated Arts) BA and BFA programs.

Launched in 2022, this unique degree fosters interdisciplinary skills in art, performance, art histories, critical theories and research-creation. Emphasizing creative practice as a collective mode of enquiry, student paths include acting, game design, painting/drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, playwriting, dance, and film-making. Grounded in social justice, iARTS is committed to fostering equity and diversity in society and to training caring and environmentally responsible artists.

IARTS EXPO: Pilot lives up to the ambitious interdisciplinary objectives of the program and is a celebration of the programs’ first cohort students. It includes a multi-disciplinary exhibition at the McMaster Museum for the Arts, three new theatrical performances at the Lyons Family Studio, and the three new films presented at McMaster Concert Hall.

The events are spread across the four days but all of them can be enjoyed on one day on Saturday 28th March starting with the reception at the Museum at 1pm.
