In a projected future that is so close you could touch it, Hysteria is theatre at it's most vital as Black Mirror meets The Handmaid's Tale. In response to the ongoing outrage following the #metoo movement, the government introduces a controversial new app to record consent in an effort to calm tensions and provide security. However, as technology infiltrates our most intimate moments, is this a solution or a short step to the next breakout of Hysteria?

In its first incarnation last year, Hysteria received critical and audience acclaim for its bravery and boldness in tackling rape culture and sexual politics in an honest, painfully funny light. The script has been workshopped and developed, with new original songs and filmed sequences added, making the new Hysteria a must-see audiences in Vancouver this fall.
