Blueridge Chamber Fest: Samuel Coleridge-Taylor at 150

Over the past 15 years, Blueridge has grown from a grassroots musical meeting among friends to one of Vancouver’s most innovative classical music experiences. To celebrate our 15^th anniversary, we present MILESTONES:  a festival celebrating four musical anniversaries.

The Blueridge Festival opens with a concert honouring the 150^th birthday of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, a Black British composer whose works have recently experienced a resurgence in Europe but remain rarely performed in Canada. Coleridge-Taylor’s signature lush, romantic style and soaring melodies shine in three of his most entrancing compositions. All three pieces will be Canadian premieres: an exciting opportunity to discover this gorgeous music for the first time!
