Homeschool Family Program: Florida by the Foot

Take a step into the wild and explore Florida’s native wildlife and ecosystems through an interactive experience designed just for homeschool families!

What to Expect:

Up-close animal encounters
Meet incredible native species like gopher tortoises and our rescued residents like River the bald eagle, and discover the vibrant birds of our Florida aviary
Engage in hands-on activities that make learning about nature fun and memorable!

Bring your curiosity and your walking shoes—we're going on an educational adventure through Florida’s natural world!

This program is designed for elementary level students, but it is sure to be a joy for the whole family.

Program participants (5-10 year olds) will participate in all hands-on activities.

Additional guests will join on the zoo tour, observe activities, and meet animal ambassadors.

Capacity is 30 people.

The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo, a unique 10-acre zoo in Gainesville, Florida, is the only zoo on a college campus accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The zoo is open every day from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
