Fiction and history combine in these powerful stories based on real-life events. In Lisa Barr’s Woman on Fire, a journalist enters a world of intrigue and danger as she searches for a painting stolen by Nazis. Author Rachel Barenbaum explores the past with a science fiction twist in Atomic Anna. Three generations of women work together and travel through time to prevent the Chernobyl disaster and right the wrongs of their past. Historical fiction provides an avenue for exploring important historical events through different lenses.
